“Celebrating Environmental Commitment: Nippon Paint India Marks the Sixth Harit Prem Bharat Mahotsav“
Nippon Paint India is commemorating the sixth edition of the Harit Prem Bharat Mahotsav, underscoring our steadfast commitment to sustainable practices. Integral to the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) campaign, this celebration is aligned with Nippon Paint’s role as a founding member of IGBC.
In the context of this event, the Indian Green Building Council Chennai Chapter, co-chaired by Mahesh S. Anand, is taking a leadership role. The occasion is dedicated to honouring Chairman Dr. (Late) Prem C Jain, whose enduring dedication has significantly contributed to the global advancement of environmental sustainability.
The Harit Prem Bharat Mahotsav, observed from the 23rd to the 29th of february, represents our collective efforts in fostering a greener planet. As part of this campaign, we are taking tangible steps today by planting a thousand trees within our factory premises.
The decision to plant a thousand trees is grounded in recent insights shared by a sustainable practitioner. According to this perspective, planting 14 trees over an individual’s lifespan can offset the carbon dioxide emissions produced during that time. Committing to planting a thousand trees annually, our objective is to achieve carbon neutrality for every participant within our initiative over a 14-year period.
We extend appreciation to the entire team for their enthusiastic participation in this event, Carried out even in intense weather. This collective effort signifies our unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility and emphasizes our dedication to making a positive impact. The commemoration of the sixth Harit Prem Bharat Mahotsav envisions a future where our unified actions contribute to a sustainable and harmonious planet.
